This page provides information on what hardware and operating systems are required for Chaos Arena to work properly. Requirements Please make sure that your system meets the requirements listed below before installing Chaos Arena. Processor Intel 64 , AMD64 or compatible processor with AVX2 support RAM System RAM should equal or exceed GPU memory (minimum 8GB RAM). It is recommended to have RAM twice the size of GPU memory. Operating system Microsoft ® Windows® 10 with Update 2004 (version 10.0.19041) or newer Licensing Arena license with Chaos License Server 6.2.0 or newer GPU Acceleration DXR compatible NVIDIA® discrete GPU: RTX series or newer, required driver 537.42 or newer 1 in WDDM mode Chaos Arena can use up to 2 GPU devices in a render node. Network All machines should be connected in a fast and stable network 2 . At least a 10GbE network should be used for best results but it should work on slower networks 3 too, especially with lower resolutions. Synchronization For a synchronized (Genlock) setup with multiple render machines that are used simultaneously, the render machines should have NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPUs and NVIDIA Quadro Sync II cards. Content Sharing Normally the scenes and assets should be shared on a network drive (NAS) accessible 4 by all involved machines. However, other options are also possible, for example version control systems like Perforce or other file/folder synchronization solutions. Notes 1 – GPU must be set to WDDM mode and not in TCC , otherwise Chaos Arena will not detect it. 2 – Multiple networks can be used, for example the tracking could be on a separate physical network. However, the render and operator machines have to be in the same network in order for the edge blending feature to work. 3 – If the network is too slow, this might lead to issues with loading the scene content or with edge blending. 4 – All scene and asset paths must match exactly between the machines. Even if all asset paths in the scene are relative, they're still resolved using the absolute scene path which is sent by the server and is always the same on all machines. This means that having different paths to the scene on the machines will not work, even with all paths stripped and all assets in the same directory as the scene.
