This page provides information on using the excerpt-type macros in Confluence Cloud to display content from one page on another.

## **Overview**

---

You can display information from one page on another using macros. You can either pull the entire page or specific pieces of information from a page onto other pages. The page used as a source is called a *reference *or a* source page*. The pages that are displaying the source page’s information are called *including pages*.

Depending on what you want to display, you can use the following macros:

- **Include Content** – Used to display the entire source page on other pages.
- **Excerpt / Insert excerpt **– Used to display selected sections of the source page on other pages.

> ⚠️ Note that links cannot be modified on the including page – they will always point to the original sources on the reference pages. Only excerpt sections/pages without links.

## **Excerpt / Insert Excerpt Macros**

---

**Excerpt **and **Insert excerpt** macros work together and are used when a certain block of information is repeated unchanged on many pages.

One page is the source. The rest of the pages pull the information from the source.
