This page provides information on adding attachments to a Confluence Cloud page, as well as the standards that attachments must meet in order to be uploaded.

## **Standards: Tutorial Assets**

---

Tutorial assets should include a start scene and an end scene saved in the oldest possible version of the host platform. The oldest possible version is the one that supports the latest version of the Chaos Renderer. For example, a V-Ray for Max scene must be saved with the earliest Max version that supports the latest V-Ray version (for V-Ray 7.2, this is Max 2021).

If there are any materials, geometry, lighting, or other assets in the scene, make sure to upload all of those files. Put them all together in a **.zip file**. Avoid using archive formats other than .zip. .rar is also acceptable, but formats like .7z should be avoided, as 7-Zip is not supported by default on most operating systems and is not commonly installed by users.

## **Steps to Add Attachments**

---

### **I. Create Download Assets Button**

You can use the following **Refine Button** macro to link the assets to:

![TechGuide_RefinedButton.png](media://3a03a2d9-c6c0-46bd-bbc5-2832e5846882)

It looks like this when applied:

> Macro (refined-button)

This macro has presets for the button’s icons. For downloadable files, use the **download **icon preset ( ).

When linking to files in Google Drive, it's best to enable the **open link in new window** option in the macro.

### **II. Uploading on the Page**

Upload the project file or assets to Google Drive first:

- There is a shared space in GDrive called [DocsScenes](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0AE_d_o5hgoknUk9PVA), where you can upload your archived file. Go to the **Share Advanced** options (right-click > Share > Share) and select **Anyone with the link can view**.
- Click **Copy link** and then **Done**.

You have to rework the URL before linking it to the Confluence page.

- If the standard GDrive share link looks like this:
- Re-work it by using the FILE_ID in the following format:

> ℹ️ The **FILE_ID** is whatever is after the "id=" part of the URL.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ ![image](media://088d5c40-0e38-4b89-bb53-b86e02a74633)

This should force the link to start downloading directly.

This shareable link should then be linked to the **Refined Button** mentioned above.

If the file is deleted, its link on the page will remain active until the file is permanently deleted from the **Trash** folder in the GDrive.
