<span style="color: #000000">To blur something -> right-click on the sequence > Make subsequence > (a new window appears at the top-left corner) > drag & drop it above the original sequence.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">In the top-right panel (Effects panel) > Video Effects > Blur and Sharpen > Gaussian Blur > drag & drop it on the subsequence.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Go to Effects Control panel (top left) > click on the subsequence (the controls appear) > click on the square figure - Create 4 polygon mask - (under the Gaussian Blur option) > fit it into the video > change the Mask Opacity/Blurriness parameters.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Note: If you want the mask to be present only in specific frames, cut the subsequence with the Razor tool before adding the effect.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Additional: right-click on the subsequence > Unlink (this removes the mirror image below)</span>


<span style="color: #000000">To add subtitles -> press T > click somewhere on the video image > a textbox appears > write whatever you want.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To edit the text > click on the newly appeared box in the timeline > Effects Control panel (top left) > the Text drop-down menu.</span>


<span style="color: #000000">A rule of thumb is to add cross dissolve between different parts (e.g. a video and an image) or at the end of a video. Right-click on the sequence and press Apply Default Transitions.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Another way is to click on the sequence and press Ctrl+D .</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Cross dissolve for audio -> Ctrl+Shift+D</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Another way to increase/decrease the audio -> </span><span style="color: #1155cc">[stretch the audio](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx9bl_j02c4)</span><span style="color: #000000"> sequence so to be presented graphically > with Ctrl+click put 2 dots where you want the audio to change > drag the second dot to increase/decrease the audio.</span>


<span style="color: #000000">To add a black/color/ screen > File tab > New > Color Matte > choose the color/name/etc. > it appears next to the other elements</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To add a colorful mask > Effects panel > Crop > drag & drop it on the Color Matte subsequence > Effects Control > under Crop > left/top/right/ bottom + Edge Feather. You can move and place the mask wherever you like.</span>


<span style="color: #000000">To change the speed of a sequence -> right-click on the sequence > Speed/Duration > change the Speed parameter</span>


<span style="color: #000000">Some shortcuts:</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Ctrl + A -> selects all sequences (you can move them together without changing anything)</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Ctrl + X and Ctrl + V -> cut and paste</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Click on a sequence + A -> allows you to move everything after the sequence forward</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Shift + A -> allows you to move everything after the sequence backward</span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can lock the channels above/below that you don’t want to move.</span>
