Please always follow the steps below when updating the Confluence stylesheet.


## **Update CSS Stylesheet**

Updating the stylesheet is done on the Refined Theme website ([https://documentation.chaos.com/](https://documentation.chaos.com/)).

- Go to the **Site administration** from the Gear  icon > Settings.
- Then, navigate to the **Configuration **tab.
- Scroll down to the **Custom Code** section. The Custom CSS option must be enabled.
- Make sure the current code is present in the [Version Control](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dAp8DR3mYVF1LSnwmMKO2cVaLQNFdpl9).
- Once you confirm that no old code will be lost, make your changes to the stylesheet.
- Copy the entire new code and save it as a .css file in Notepad.
- Go to [GDrive version control folders](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dAp8DR3mYVF1LSnwmMKO2cVaLQNFdpl9) and create a new folder. Name it after the current date you make your changes. For example, if you make changes on 1 January 2025, name the folder *2025 January 01*.

> ⚠️ If you discard parts of the CSS code, please copy them into a separate Notepad file and put them in the Discarded Code folder on the GDrive.

> ✅ It is a good practice to add a README file with explanations about the changes you made. Put the README file in the same folder as the new CSS code.

- Then copy the segment you have updated into a .css file and update the respective file in the [Individual Segments folder](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vbYur4UGgMABogL4i3WZpv_YL6EEBzcz). A segment is a part of code that is between two comments, for example, the Footer segment, the Banner segment, etc.

- Click **Save** and test your changes on several browsers: Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, Opera, and Microsoft Edge, to be sure that everything runs smoothly.
