This article provides instructions on setting the permissions of a space.

## **Overview**

---

Space permissions are managed through both Confluence Cloud and the Refined Theme. In Confluence Cloud, you control the space’s visibility as well as the permissions to edit, update, and sync pages within the space. In Refined Theme, you can control only the visibility of a category under which spaces are located.
