This page provides details on writing microcopy for confirmation messages, also called success messages.

## **What are Confirmation Messages?**

---

**Confirmation messages** (or success messages) inform or reassure users that the process or results they expect are complete. In some cases, in addition to confirming that the user has successfully performed an action, they may also provide instructions for the next step.

## **Rules**

---

- Use the past tense of the verb or verb phrase. For example, “Submitted.”

## **Common Patterns**

---

Common patterns include:

- {verb}ed [the] {noun}
- {noun} {verb}ed
- {process name} is complete

Other patterns are also possible.

## **Examples**

---

This is an example of confirmation messages for the successful download of the Cosmos asset across all Chaos products. The first dialog provides a button for the next step, ‘Import Downloaded Asset,’ and follows the pattern {process name} complete. The second dialog confirms that the download was successful and follows the pattern {verb}ed.

This is an example of a confirmation message for the successful upload of a scene to Chaos Cloud. The message also prompts the user to take the next step – either submit more scenes or open the currently submitted one in Chaos Cloud.

3ds Max uses a nonstandard method to indicate the completion of an import process, relying on percentages to convey progress.
