This page provides information on managing Views in Enscape.

## Overview

---

The **View Management** button () in the Enscape user interface opens the **View Management** panel. The panel handles creation, renaming, updating, and [linking of Views to a Visual Settings Preset](https://docs-chaos.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ENSCAPE/pages/841056387). View deletion is performed in the associated CAD/BIM application.

A View can also be marked as a **Favorite**. Favorite Views are designed for use in both the [Enscape Virtual Reality Presentation Mode](https://docs-chaos.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ENSCAPE/pages/841285637) and the [Enscape Standalone Executable](https://docs-chaos.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/enscape/pages/841154791) files, and help both presenters and clients quickly navigate to pre-selected Viewpoints within a project.

### **Select and Update Views in CAD/BIM**

---

Each host application has its own workflow for selecting and updating views. Expand the relevant section below for step-by-step instructions.

Select and update views in SketchUp

Select the associated Scene through the tabs or the **Scenes** panel in SketchUp.

To update a View/Scene in SketchUp, enable the **Synchronize Views** to simplify the process. SketchUp's **Update Scene** option also updates and saves the Enscape View's [Sun Settings](https://docs-chaos.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/enscape/pages/841416711) to the View.

Select the associated Scene through the tabs or the **Scenes** panel in SketchUp.

Select and update views in Revit

To display a View in the Enscape window, click its name in the list of Views in the **View Management** panel in Enscape or in the **Active Document** dropdown in Revit. The **Active Document** dropdown selects the View Enscape displays without leaving the Revit user interface, while Revit's **Project Browser** remains available for work in another View.

To update a View in Revit:

- Open the View from the **Project Browser** in Revit.
- Select **Unlock View** from the viewport menu in Revit.
- Make the changes, including adjustments to the **Sun Position**.
- Select **Save Orientation and Lock View** in Revit to update the View in both Revit and Enscape.

> ℹ️ A restart of Enscape might be required to see the changes, although the View generally updates without one.

**Using Revit's Live Camera**

The Revit Live Camera function helps with navigation and View setup in complex projects. To enable the camera, click the arrow on the **Synchronize Views** button in the Enscape ribbon in the Revit user interface, then select **Revit Live Camera**.

The following demonstration shows Enscape’s Revit Live Camera being activated and the movement being controlled in both Revit and in Enscape.

To deactivate the Revit Live Camera, click the **Revit Live Camera** button again to pause it, or click the arrow on the button and select **Synchronize Views** instead.

Select and update views in ArchiCAD

A View in ArchiCAD is selected from the ArchiCAD **View Map** dialog.

When selecting the View from the View Map dialog, if **Synchronize Views** is disabled in Enscape, then only the Viewport in Archicad updates.

When the View is selected from the [Enscape ](#Select-and-Update-Views-in-Enscape)**[View Management](#Select-and-Update-Views-in-Enscape)**[ panel](#Select-and-Update-Views-in-Enscape) and **Synchronize Views** is disabled, Enscape pans smoothly between the Named Views, and the View ‘snaps’ to the selected View in the ArchiCAD viewport.

When **Synchronize Views** is enabled, the View ‘snaps’ in the Enscape window the same way it snaps in the ArchiCAD viewport.

To update a View in ArchiCAD:

- Make the adjustment to the View in ArchiCAD.
- Click the **View Settings** button
- In the **View Settings** dialog, click **Get Current Window's Settings** at the top.
- Click **OK**. The View updates in both ArchiCAD and Enscape.
