This page covers the material types in Chaos Vantage and how to create and edit them. Overview Chaos Vantage offers a range of materials. Each one can be adjusted to create different looks, from simple surfaces like plastic and metal to light-emitting objects. You can edit all material types in Vantage, including native, imported and Cosmos materials. Material Workflows Create Materials Materials in Vantage are created either in the Material lister and Material editor, or in the Material node editor. Both the lister and the editor are located in the  Materials Tab , while the Material node editor is a separate window. Create materials through  Material lister : Go to the Material lister and click the  Create  ( ) button. Select a material type from the dropdown list and edit its settings in the Material editor. Create materials through  Material node editor : Right-click in the Material node editor and select  Materials  >  material type . Edit Materials Materials are edited in the Material editor or the Material node editor only. Select the material in the lister or in the viewport to display its parameters. In Vantage, you can edit all types of materials: native, imported and Cosmos materials. Assign Materials Materials are assigned from the Material lister, the Material editor, or the Material node editor. Assign materials from  Material lister : Select an object in the scene and a material in the lister. Then either click   or right-click the material and choose  Assign this material to the selection . Assign materials from  Material editor : Select an object in the scene and click   of the material opened in the Material editor. Assign materials from  Material node editor : Select an object in the scene and a material node in the editor. Then either click   or right-click the material and choose  Assign material to selection . The video shows some basic actions with Materials in Vantage.
