This page provides details about the SimplexNoise texture in Chaos Vantage. Overview The SimplexNoise texture parameters are grouped into several tabs: TexSimpleNoise, Common and Mapping Properties, UVW Coordinates, and UVW Randomize. Settings Scale – Controls the scale for the noise UVW coordinates. Amplitude – Controls the range of the Noise. Threshold – Specifies a value added to the noise function. Note that values above  1.0  are clamped. Ratio –  Octaves – Controls the number of functions to use when calculating Perlin Noise. Frequency – Controls the amount of Noise generated. Higher values create smaller, finer noise. Frequency ratio –  Distortion u –  Distortion v –  Distortion ratio –  Gamma –  Noise type – Specifies the type of noise to be created through the Noise procedural. Iterations – Specifies the UV noise iterations. For information about the parameters in the Common and Mapping Properties, UVW Coordinates, and UVW Randomize tabs, see the  Textures page .
