This page provides details about the MeshVertexColorChannel texture in Chaos Vantage. Overview The MeshVertexColorChannel texture allows you to use Vertex Color mapping with a mesh. This is especially useful when rendering an object colored with vertex color painting. Settings Channel index – Exported proxies from some DCCs may not have color/UV set names information. In that case, you will need to set the value of this parameter to the exact index of the corresponding set when it was exported from the DCC. Note that this index is 0-based. Channel name – A field to enter the color or UV set name. The appropriate color/UV information is found based on the objects that have this vertex color texture assigned as part of their shading network(s). This allows you to create a single MeshVertexColorChannel texture to be used by many meshes as long as their color/UV sets share the same name. Default color – Specifies the color to use for vertices/faces that don't have color information. Note that a texture can be used here.
