This page provides information about the supported .vrscene features exported from Corona for 3ds Max. Legend  – the feature is supported partial – only some features are supported  – the feature is exported in a vrscene but is currently not supported in Vantage  – the feature is not supported in Vantage and currently also not exported into a vrscene Materials CoronaPhysicalMtl UI Native Name Support Notes metalness base color roughness IOR edge color bump partial Some features are not supported in Chaos Vantage. See the  Bump  table. anisotropy translucency refraction dispersion thin absorption partial Textures/maps are not supported. opacity partial Only forced clip mode is supported. The texture can only have fully opaque or fully transparent areas. displacement partial Some features are not supported in Chaos Vantage. See the  Displacement  table. clearcoat partial Clearcoat bump is not supported. sheen volumetric absorption partial Textures/maps are not supported. volumetric scattering SSS self-illumination background overrides base tail complex IOR CoronaLegacyMtl UI Native Name Support Notes diffuse translucency reflection color Fresnel IOR reflection glossiness reflection anisotropy refraction color refraction IOR refraction glossiness dispersion opacity partial Only Forced Clip mode is supported. See the  Displacement  table. volumetric absorption partial Textures/maps are not supported. volumetric scattering SSS self-illumination background overrides Other Materials Name Support Notes CoronaLayeredMtl Requires Chaos Vantage v2.3.0 or newer. CoronaRaySwitchMtl Empty channels require the  "Rendering of opacity maps"  option enabled in Vantage. This option is enabled automatically when using the  "Open scene in Vantage..."  option. However, if the scene is exported to the .vrscene format and loaded or merged into Vantage, you need to enable it manually. You can find this option in Vantage under  Render Settings > Advanced > Materials > Opacity maps (clip mode)  or  Open Render Settings button > Enable rendering of opacity maps . CoronaShadowCatcherMtl CoronaSkinMtl CoronaHairMtl CoronaSlicerMtl CoronaScannedMtl CoronaUnsupportedMtl CoronaSelect Material Bump Name Support Notes Standard bump partial Most maps other than Bitmap are ignored by Chaos Vantage. Normal map partial Normal maps and/or shaders work as expected when using a simple setup (Bitmap > Corona Normal > Material bump slot), however they may not work correctly in more complex scenarios (e.g. mixing two Corona Normal maps and connecting the mix with the material bump slot). Displacement Name Support Notes Normal displacement partial Vantage always applies smoothing to geometry edges, similar to using mesh tessellation or subdivision. Vector displacement Per-face normal Per-face vector/mixed Only single vector displacement or per-face normal displacement is exported.  Water level In case of per-face displacement, only the lowest water level is exported.  Geometry Name Support Notes Triangle meshes Hair Corona Proxy Corona Proxy is currently exported as a regular mesh. Corona Decal partial Requires Chaos Vantage 2.4.0 or newer. - dimensions - bend partial Bend-width only. - max angle blur partial There may be minor differences between the appearance of the Decal in Corona and Vantage. Specifically, the center of the Decal can be partly transparent in Corona, but it is always opaque in Vantage. - bump partial Decal bump always replaces or adds to base; the Base only  mode is exported as  Add to base . - displacement Displacement is always taken from the base object. - affect material - include/exclude Corona Pattern modifier Chaos Scatter Currently scattered instanced export as individual instances. Future optimizations are planned. VolumeGrid Lights Name Support Notes Corona light (sphere, rectangle, disk) partial Some advanced features like  prevent black appearance  do not work. Corona light - other shapes partial Converted as emissive mesh. They works in Vantage but are not listed in the Lights tab. Corona IES lights CoronaLightMtl partial Non-physical lights (spot, point, etc) Cameras Camera Support Basic perspective and orthogonal Spherical, Cylindrical, Fisheye etc DOF Resolution / aspect ratio Near/far clipping Multiple camera export Environment Environment Support Notes Constant color environment Textured environment partial Only bitmaps, optionally with basic color correction.  Physical environment (CoronaSky) partial sky models partial Rawa-fake is not supported. clouds contrails volume effect multiple environments Corona Sun Global volume Maps Name Support Notes Chaos Scatter Surface Color CoronaBitmap partial CoronaColor CoronaColorCorrect CoronaData partial Only the UVW mode and Wire color mode are supported. CheckerMap CoronaFrontBack Replaced by Mtl2Sided in export. GradientMap MaxFalloffMap CoronaMix partial Divide, gamma, linear light, and vivid light modes are not supported. CoronaMultiMap partial Only some modes are supported. CoronaMappingRandomizer partial Only UVW randomization. Only some modes supported.
