This page provides details about the MayaContrast texture in Chaos Vantage. Overview The MayaContrast texture is Chaos Vantage's implementation of the Contrast texture in Maya. The MayaContrast texture helps you increase or decrease the contrast in a texture. Increasing the contrast makes the light colors lighter and the dark colors darker. Decreasing the contrast brings all the colors closer to the middle range and makes them grey. You can control the center of this range with though the Bias parameter. Settings Value – Specifies the input color or texture to adjust. Contrast – Specifies the amount of contrast adjustment. Increasing the contrast makes light colors lighter, and dark colors darker. Decreasing the contrast makes everything grey. Bias – Specifies the middle point of the contrast adjustment. Increasing the Bias moves the middle point upwards. This means that more of the texture becomes dark. Decreasing the Bias moves the middle point down. This means that more of the texture becomes light.
