This page provides details about the Blend material available for creation in Chaos Vantage.

## **Overview**

## **Parameters**

## **Examples**

---

The following examples demonstrate the effect that individual Blend material parameters have on the scene. Click on any image to view it at a higher resolution.

### **Example: Modes**

The following example shows the difference between the two blend modes: Energy Conserving and Additive. The Blend material used in the scene has only one coat layer (red paint) and a base material (silver). The two layers are blended via a Bitmap plugged into the Weight parameter.

### **Example: Blend with Color**

The following example shows the effect of the Weight Color parameter. It is used to blend the base material (silver) and the coat material (red paint) of a Blend material. Darker colors reveal more of the base color and reduce the effect of the coat layer. Lighter colors work in the opposite way, showing more of the coat and less of the base material.

---

The following example shows the effect of the Weight Color parameter. The Blend material used in the scene has only one coat layer (patina) and a base material (copper). The two layers are blended via the Weight Color parameter. The darker the color, the shinier the copper robot is. The lighter the color, the more oxidized the copper robot is.

---

Here, the base color is red paint, and the coat color is blue paint. The Weight Color is used to blend between the two.

### **Example: Blending with Texture**

The following example shows the effect of the Weight Texture parameter. It is used to blend the base material (metal) and the coat material (red paint) of a Blend material. Two textures with different patterns and settings are used here.
