This page provides a quick starting point for working with color corrections in Chaos Vantage.

## **Overview**

## **Getting Started with Color Corrections**

---

The following sections show you where to find the color corrections, how to enable and use them, and how to create color correction sub-states and switch between them.

### **Applying Color Corrections**

Here is a more detailed look at some of the key color correction effects you can add:

- **Exposure:** Adjusts the overall brightness of the image to easily compensate for overexposed or underexposed areas.
- **Filmic tonemap: **Applies a curve to smoothly map high dynamic range (HDR) values to your display, producing a cinematic look and preventing bright highlights from clipping harshly.
- **LUT (Look-Up Table):** Applies predefined color grading presets to instantly change the mood and atmospheric style of your scene.
- **Lens Effects:** Simulates real-world camera lens artifacts to make the render feel more like a physical photograph.
- **Bloom:** Creates a glowing, scattered light effect around intensely bright areas or light sources, adding realistic optical dispersion.
- **Blur/Sharpen: **Softens or enhances image details. This is highly useful for crisping up fine textures or slightly softening the overall look of the render.
- **Hue/Saturation:** Lets you shift all colors in your scene and adjust their intensity, which is useful for broad creative effects.
- **Color mixer:** Applies selective color corrections to specified color areas, instead of the whole image.
- **Color balance: **Fine-tunes the specific color tints in the shadows, midtones, and highlights, helping to achieve a specific color harmony or eliminate unwanted color casts.
- **White balance: **Adjusts the overall color temperature of the image, making it warmer (more orange/red) or cooler (more blue) to ensure neutral objects appear truly white under different lighting conditions.
- **Chromatic aberration:** Simulates the subtle color fringing often seen at the edges of real camera lenses, adding an extra layer of photographic realism.
- **Overlay: **Lets you add a watermark, logo, or other 2D graphical elements securely on top of your final render.
