This page provides information about the Surface Properties node in the V-Ray Node Editor in Blender. Overview The surface Properties node provides additional surface properties on a per-object basis. Make sure that this node is connected to the V-Ray Object Output node, or it will not be applied to the currently selected object. UI Path:  ||V-Ray Node Editor|| >  Shader > Add > Textures >  V-Ray Bitmap Properties Generate GI Multiplier – Determines whether the indirect illumination generated by the object is multiplied. A multiplier of 1 keeps the indirect illumination at the same value. Receive GI Multiplier – Determines whether the indirect illumination received by the object is multiplied. A multiplier of 1 keeps the received illumination at the same value. Subdivs Multiplier  – Specifies a multiplier for the subdivisions of all secondary ray tracing done for the particular surface. Caustics Multiplier – Specifies a multiplier for the caustics generated by the selected object. A value of one makes no changes. GI Surface ID  – This number can be used to prevent the blending of  light cache  samples across different surfaces. If two objects have different  GI surface IDs , the light cache samples of the two objects are not blended. This can be useful for preventing light leaks between objects of vastly different illumination. Generate Render Element – When disabled, the Surface Properties do not affect the results of the generated render channels .
