This page provides information about the AI Enhancer feature in Chaos Cloud. Overview The AI Enhancer provides easy and quick quality enhancement to renders. This applies especially to people and vegetation, but also to large surfaces assets. You can recognize renders that can be enhanced by the AI Enhancer tag . Keep in mind that for a render to be recognized as available for enhancement, it also needs to be uploaded not for rendering in Chaos Cloud, but for enhancement (usually through the Enhance Image button in the 3D software you are using). The AI Enhancer uses Chaos Credits . For more information, see Chaos Credits documentation. There are two enhancement modes: One-click enhancement – Creates an AI-enhanced version of the whole image. Performs best enhancements on people and vegetation. No customization. Advanced Controls – Allows per-object AI prompt setting of enhancements. Provides control and better variation for vegetation, people, and large surfaces. The two modes can be performed together on the same render. For example, an image can be enhanced using the One-click method as a start, and then, individual components of the image can be further enhanced with the Advanced Controls. One-click Enhancement You can start a full image enhancement either through the three dot menu menu on the image thumbnail > Enhance image , or with the  Enhance button when you open the image. Once the enhancement is complete, you can compare the before and the after images from the v2 dropdown menu .  You can view the images as an A/B slider or side by side using the corresponding buttons. You can enhance individual items in the scene through the Advanced Controls. You can find the Advanced Controls by going to Edit > AI Enhancer . For more details on the Advanced Controls, see the Advanced Controls section . The One-click Enhancement creates a full enhancement of the Base Layer. To select and edit individual components from the file, you need to go to the Advanced Controls. Advanced Controls These controls allow you to fine-tune the enhancement on an object level. This feature currently works best with people, vegetation, and large surfaces (e.g., walls, floors). Go to Edit > AI Enhancer . The Enhancer does a quick pass and masks all objects that can be further enhanced - vegetation, people, and large surfaces. Once masked, you can hover and select people, faces, vegetation, and large surfaces to start a new enhancement. When you select the object, a window appears. If no enhancements have been made so far, the new enhancement options appear, allowing you to determine the prompts for the enhancement. If an enhancement pass has already been made, selecting the object will instead open the enhancements window, where you can see previous versions of the asset and create a new enhancement. To create a new enhancement, click on +Create new . Create Enhancements window Create New Enhancement button People Enhancement Creativity determines the amount of deviation from the original version. High Creativity will generate more varied results, and Low Creativity will stay closer to the original object. You can select an Age group and Gender for the enhancement to give our AI a better idea of the object it is enhancing. You can adjust the settings to age the person or change their gender. There are additional options when you scroll down - Ethnicity , Facial expression , and Hair color . When you enable each checkbox, a dropdown appears. You can choose between the given options. When you are happy with the settings, click Enhance . Plant Enhancement Chaos' AI detects when an object is a plant and removes the people-specific options. Set a High Creativity to create a more realistic version of the vegetation in your scene. Large Surface Enhancement If the AI Enhancer does not recognize the large surfaces of your image as available for enhancement, re-upload the image to Chaos Cloud. Large surface enhancements allow you to add dirt, damage, or age to the surface. Leaving the Enhance material menu at the Default option will not add any additional effects. Increasing the Creativity increases the deviation from the original. However, the material is never changed, i.e., if it is a wood material, it will remain as wood, and bricks will remain as bricks. Enhancing the Base Layer You can also enhance the base layer behind your enhanced objects. To do so, select the Enhance whole image button at the bottom of the AI Enhancer menu. This performs an automatic enhancement of the entire scene and creates new enhanced versions of the masked objects in your scene. When you have generated multiple object enhancements and base layer enhancements, you can mix and match them to get the ideal version of your image. Take note that object enhancements are always applied on top of the base layer enhancements, but you can always select the automatic base layer enhancement for a specific object or just delete the object enhancement. This method of enhancement is also performed when the Enhance button is used. Full enhancement in the Advanced Controls Apply Enhancements When you are happy with the enhancements, you need to click the Save as new version button. The enhancements are not applied automatically. They need to be manually saved to a new version. This produces a new image with your selected enhancements, which you can use for presentation or collaboration. You can always go back and create another version with different enhancements. Removing and Deleting Enhancement Layers You can remove and delete enhancement layers from the new enhanced version of your scene. You can remove an enhancement layer through the AI Enhancer toolbar on the right by opening that enhancement layer’s three-dot menu. Click Remove to remove the enhancement layer from the selection. Removing an enhancement layer does not delete it, but only removes it from the list of enhancements. If you remove an enhancement layer and click Save as new version , that enhancement layer will not be saved in the new version, but it will still exist within the .exr file that you are currently editing. You can delete an enhancement layer from the exr file by opening that object’s enhancement list and clicking on the trash can icon. This deletes that enhancement layer for that object. Only enhancement layers created for that object can be deleted from this list. Base enhancement layers are visible in the individual Object enhancement lists, but they are deleted from the Base layer list. Remove a layer Delete a layer Delete a base layer
