This page provides information about generating Assets in the Model tab in Veras.

# **Overview**

---

> ⚠️ Assets and Materials can run only from images generated in Veras in 3D mode, with the 3D view as the Source image.

Before or after selecting the asset source, which can be:

- [Search Cosmos library](#)
- [Generate 3D model](#)
- [Place from Gallery](#)

Perform one of the two actions to have a selection:

Option 1: Detect objects (blue button in the bottom right) - default workflow

Option 2: Select an object to search/generate via Lasso, or manually select an object.

## **Search Cosmos Library **

---

The feature helps you locate similar objects within the extensive Chaos Cosmos library. This option helps you find items with similar characteristics, styles, or functionality, making it easier to find the right assets for your projects. By using this search capability, you can efficiently navigate a vast collection and find the most suitable objects to enhance your creative endeavors.

**Use real-world size** - Place library assets at their real-world size instead of sizing them to the detected object. Applies to assets already in the scene as well — they are re-scaled in place, keeping their position. Defaults on in Revit, Rhino, SketchUp and Vectorworks, where the host declares its units, and off elsewhere, where an uploaded model's units are unknown. Override it per object from that object's ··· menu.

> ✅ Cosmos Library assets are free, premium quality, human-made, and feature optimized geometry. Use the **Generate 3D model **option when you need exact matches or are searching for highly specific or niche items. For other cases, utilize the Cosmos search.

## **Generate 3D Model**

---

The **Generate 3D model** feature transforms each selected object into a detailed, textured 3D mesh. This process analyzes the object's shape and surface characteristics to create a realistic 3D representation. Users can select multiple objects, and the system generates individual 3D models for each, ensuring textures accurately reflect the original materials. The resulting meshes can be used for various applications, including visualization, animation, and gaming, providing a rich, immersive experience.

**3D engine:**

**Microsoft Trellis 2.0** – Developed by Microsoft Research, Trellis uses structured latent and voxel representations to transform 2D image crops into textured 3D geometry. It operates significantly faster than Tencent, making it ideal for quick iterations, scene population, prop creation, and batch asset generation.

**Tencent HY 3D 3.1 **– Tencent HY 3D is the default engine, developed by Tencent, and is a high-precision tool designed for 3D reconstruction, featuring refined geometry and smooth surface details. It is particularly suited for intricate objects and production-level meshes, where visual accuracy and texture quality take priority over processing speed.

**Microsoft Trellis 1.0 **- Fast single image meshing at the lowest credit cost.

**Quality** - Choose between Draft, Standard, and High.

## **Place from Gallery**

---

The **Place from Gallery** option lets you import a 3D model you previously generated. Click the **Pick from gallery** button, select a model from your Gallery, and add it to your current project for unlimited use.
