This page provides information about Baking in Revit, Rhino, and SketchUp.

## **Overview**

---

Explore baking options while working in Revit, Rhino, and SketchUp with Veras.

> ⚠️ Vectorworks and ArchiCAD support is not available yet.

## **Bake Geometry**

---

The **Bake geometry** section controls how the generated asset's geometry is written into the model. This setting impacts the level of detail, file size, and performance. Choose one of the following options:

**Proxy **– Embeds a lightweight, placeholder mesh into the model. This option keeps the main model file size small and maintains performance. The full, detailed asset remains visible in the Veras 3D view and in Enscape.

**Full Geometry** – Embeds the asset’s complete mesh and textures directly into the model. This option provides a fully detailed representation of the asset within the native modeling environment. Expect a larger file size, as all high-resolution data is written to the model.

> ℹ️ Native baking requires the Veras 5.2 plugin for your host. If you have an older plugin installed, Veras prompts you to update instead of baking.

Walls, floors, and roofs become native Revit elements. Doors and windows are placed as **door and window families**, with the swing and hand the agent chose. Compound objects bake as **one family**, and cameras become **perspective 3D views**. Cosmos materials become project materials, and walls and slabs get a type whose structure layer uses that material. Anything without a native equivalent bakes as an Enscape proxy.

The model bakes as **NURBS Breps** with mitered wall corners, and each camera becomes a **Named View**.

Every element becomes an **editable group, ready for Push/Pull**, with textured materials, and each camera becomes a **Scene**.

### **How to Bake Geometry**

---

Once you have placed and positioned assets in your scene using the Veras Model tab, you can bake them into your project. Baking permanently writes the asset's geometry into your model file.

Here are the steps to bake an asset:

1. Select the asset you wish to bake from the list (e.g., "Bush 008 Regular").
2. Set the [Bake Geometry Type](#): Select Proxy or Full geometry.
3. Adjust the Asset (Optional): Use the context menu options to Rotate, Size, or Reposition the asset until it is correctly placed in your scene.

| **Icon** | **Name** | **Description** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ![Rotate.jpg](media://d2e0dcf1-11f8-44b5-ba8c-f829d01a88e1) | **Rotate** | Rotates the asset in the 3D scene. |
| ![Resize.jpg](media://555f0605-4722-46bb-8ed7-c7874f3ae358) | **Resize** | Resizes the asset in the 3D scene. |
| ![Zoom.jpg](media://1caa5b5f-5dc4-4286-a8e3-c098d55d5044) | **Zoom in** | Zooms in on the selected asset. |
| ![Reposition.jpg](media://9287c80d-ecbb-40c5-9c03-ec82b9903fad) | **Reposition** | Lets you manually place the asset in the 3D scene. |
| ![Remove.jpg](media://7b2e7519-7b11-4c30-bf05-edd8fcae11d8) | **Remove** | Removes the asset from the 3D scene. |
| ![Done.jpg](media://585c85fd-8709-482b-9d22-b0358d4c220f) | **Done** | Deselects the asset and closes the adjustments menu. |

4. Initiate the Bake Process: Click the Bake button in the bottom-right corner to bake all assets at once. Alternatively, click the three-dot menu (...) next to the specific asset in the list, then select Bake to SketchUp. The selected asset is added to your model based on the geometry setting you chose.

> ⚠️ The option name depends on the platform you are using. In this example, it is SketchUp.
